Homemade Ice Cream Cake

I scream, you scream, we alllllllllllll screamed for this homemade ice cream cake! Warm weather and being pregnant makes me want ice cream every single day! So, I decided to try making my own and it was a huge hit!!

First, pick any two flavors of ice cream you like, and take them out to defrost a little. Grab your spring form pan, place it on a cookie sheet- MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ROOM IN THE FREEZER!! I then decided to put broken up Oreo cookie pieces in the middle, so I broke those up. Make sure you get the cookie pieces small enough to melt into the cake and not too huge, unless you like it that way, but it will make it harder for the two layers to form together. After the ice cream was soft enough I added my first flavor and spread it evenly in the pan. I crumbled the cookie pieces on top, leaving a 1/2 inch all the way around to help the two flavors stick together. I then added my top flavor and spread that out. Then, I added a bunch of m&m's and made sure to cover the entire top. I put saran wrap over the top and into the freezer it went!

It took everything to not break it out of the freezer before my party!! I had my family get together and decided they would love having this just as much as I loved making it. I took it out of the freezer, after about 5 minutes I loosened the spring form pan, used a spatula to make sure the sides were clear, and slide the cake out.  I cut and served the cake and it was gone before I turned around!! I can't wait to make this one again...off I go... just kidding (maybe!).
