I always knew I wanted to be a teacher & being a parent gave me the platform to be the most influential teacher to the most important students in my life. So, how does a former teacher turn mom keep the teacher spark alive? She creates, makes messes, survives a daily grind & tries to sneak in educational moments for the little ones. Sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't, but just adding hugs & kisses makes everything better.

Tommy's 1st Birthday
Wow- my baby boy is 1!! When did this happen?? Tommy and Gianna both love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so I decided to go with a Mickey theme for his birthday. The cricut comes to the rescue again.... check out this adorable display of monthly pictures!! I stuck with a red & black color scheme and had accents of Mickey Mouse on the plates and napkins for dessert. Remember- there's no reason to go overboard, just pick a theme and go with basic colors for plates, napkins and cups for the meal and drinks, it will save you a ton of money!
For my daughter's first birthday I made a large number 1, but I decided to change it up and make a large Mickey head filled with pictures from Tommy's first year. I had chocolate mickey lollipops made and asked everyone to sign a picture frame, just like I did with Gianna. I also had picture cupcake cakes made, just like I had for Gianna's first birthday party- it saves a ton of time instead of cutting, and they're adorable!!
This was a great party filled with lots of laughs and memories made!! I still can't believe my baby boy is 1, it feels like yesterday I was holding him in my arms for the first time... INCREDIBLE!!
